Hola! I am Anelena Peters, originally from Costa Rica. I am trained as a lawyer and worked for a number years as Consul General, before I decided to become a language teacher. I moved to Chicago with my family 13 years ago. I love working with children and teaching them my beautiful language Español! In my classes, students have fun as they learn about different topics such as the alphabet, colors, numbers, animals, foods, family members and many other things. We sing songs and play games where they have to memorize vocabulary and come up with new words. I always try to make the class entertaining and fun! Hasta Pronto!

Ni hao! My name is Christina Lee. I originally came from Taiwan and Mandarin Chinese is my native language. I have been teaching Mandarin Chinese since 1994 at different levels. I have taught at public high schools and middle schools and my experience with these students has given me insight to main stream Chinese language education. Before I became a teacher, I was an attorney at law, but I find that I enjoy teaching so much more. Through my passion and experiences, I hope my students learn Chinese in a practical and fun way.

I came to Chicago from my hometown of Besancon located at the Swiss border where I grew up in a lamb farm run by my mother. I live in a solar home in Lake Zurich with my three children Robbie, Jackie and Caroleen. I have been teaching French and piano initiation to little fingers for years. When I’m not teaching I love to listen to my favorite music composer, Frédéric Chopin. I love to travel, play my piano every day, and especially like to read French books or Faulkner. You may also bump into me at the Chicago Botanic Garden enjoying the serenity the brings me. On se voit en classe!
Hola! My name is Eugenia Sabbione, I’m from Argentina, where I lived until 16 years ago when my husband and I moved to Scotland with my Husband and our three-month old. Later we moved down to Oxford with two new Scottish twins. In Oxford I worked in a large charity “Cancer Research UK”, and I really enjoyed helping people. I also discovered that I love working with children, so when we moved to Chicago, 4 years ago, I started to work in the Shabonee library. I was delighted to join Global Language Lab in 2017 and I am enjoying teaching Spanish language and culture immensely. In our classes, students learn Spanish through games, songs, and different teaching techniques. We have a lot of fun! Learning a second language is a big asset in today’s world, and we are fully committed to helping the students achieve their goals in this early stage of their life learning Spanish.
